Nick Carrington

Is he a professional? No! he’s an amateur!

That is how my wife responded to a passer by whilst I was doing an outdoor photoshoot for my son and his wife who are both professional wedding photographers.

Always remember rule No 6 … don’t take yourself too seriously!

I enjoy my normal full time job and have no aspirations to give it up and become a full time professional photographer. However that doesn’t stop me aspiring to create professional quality images that myself and others can view and enjoy. I love being out in the landscape, at the coast, up a hill or anywhere I can admire and contemplate creation in all its glory.

So. here’s the thing…

I hear the word awesome used so readily nowadays such as this cake is awesome! But for me to see a glorious sunrise on the mountains and a golden sunset over the sea and observe a white tailed eagle soar in the sky or catch a glimpse of otters playing in their natural habitat this for me is truly awesome.

Add to this a camera and a lens and It allows me to engage my creative energy and make pictures and memories that I can enjoy and share with my family and you.

To take a photograph is not enough for me, but to compose, edit and then print off the final picture and hang on a wall a piece of my art that I have at times found joy, peace and healing in creating makes me feel at one with the awesomeness of the nature I so enjoy.

Thank you for visiting, Best Wishes.
